Job Description:  Head of Category Management and Merchandising
- manage the category team to ensure a planning, execution, review process aimed at meeting the strategic and financial category commitments
- Drive category growth as defined within our strategic direction
- Attract, grow, motivate and maintain talent; build a skilled web and/or interactive marketing workforce and core center of expertise
- Improve online category management efficiencies through process, tools, and collaboration
- Create a world-class category management structure, operations and execution quality
- Design and deliver interactive/web experiences that result in significant and measurable improvements in understanding, conversion and revenue
- Contribute to the development and adoption of innovative interactive/web principles and ideas across the business or company
- Expected to contribute as a senior business leader, proactively counseling senior-level management on critical interactive/web marketing elements
- Select, manage, develop and motivate agencies and other business partners
-Champion and drive adoption of web 2.0 strategies and methods
- Typically manages interactive/web marketing for a business group or at the corporate level
- Interacts regularly with senior executives within the business group or function and equivalent level managers across functions and regions concerning matters of significance to the company
-Has strong influence on senior executives within the region, function or business group
-Externally represents the company in matters of importance to the corporation, business group or function related to interactive/web marketing
-Frequently makes key strategic decisions which may have broad and significant impact within a business group or across a region without direction from higher level management
-Major impact on the online customer experience
Education and Experience Required:

• Business Analyst (BS) or Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business, Marketing or Communications; Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred
• 10+ years of experience in interactive marketing management
• Experience in designing online customer experiences and/or user interfaces
• Fluency in local language and English

Knowledge and Skills Required:

• Expert knowledge in interactive marketing, web marketing and/or ecommerce
• Knowledge and experience in two or more interactive techniques: chat marketing, search engine marketing and optimization, podcasting and blogging
• Proven experience leading, driving and measuring virtual teams toward common goal
• High levels of tact and diplomacy
• Fine-tuned consultative skills
• Agency and budget management
• Excellent writing, editing and oral communications skills
• Ability to interact with all levels of the company top to bottom, including most senior company management
