| Job Description: | The Applications Engineer is responsible for working directly with customers, the internal development organization, sales/FAEs and other members of our Applications Engineering team. In this capacity, it is the direct responsibility of this individual to provide technical support, applications know how and training to use Tensilica’s microprocessor development tools. RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide in-depth support for various software development tools, specifically our C/C++ compiler, linker and assembler Become an expert and provide guidance on writing, profiling, analyzing and optimizing software for our processors Provide customer training on these processors with emphasis on subjects related to developing and optimizing software Provide quality solutions to customer issues in timely manner Position Requirements BS in EE/CS (MS preferred) or equivalent plus 5 years of work experience. In-depth understanding of computer architecture/ RISC processors/ DSPs Hands-on experience in embedded software, firmware and driver development and debugging Working knowledge of embedded software development tools including compiler, assembler and debugger Working knowledge of assembly-level programming, interrupt and exception handling and Linker support is a plus Experience in embedded multi-core programming and system simulation using SystemC is a plus Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as good problem solving skills. Able to travel 2 to 6-weeks per year in US and worldwide. |
